The front entrance and 8-story decorative and prestigious bell tower of this well-known structure in the west suburbs is made of both Juliet and Indiana limestone masonry exterior walls with prominent stained-glass windows and large wood doors. Unsafe conditions found at the bell tower upon closer examination prompted design and installation of repairs at the stone masonry exterior walls including grinding and tuck pointing, stone replacements and resetting of large, decorative stone buttress units to restore safe and watertight conditions. The stained-glass windows were also repaired, and large wood doors refinished without harming the original appearance that was adopted during the exterior restoration program.
